I’ve always been a tinkerer and as a kid enjoyed breaking things and trying to put them back together. I worked in a machine shop as an undergrad and learned prototyping and electronics while building telescopes and studying astrophysics and math. While studying particle physics as a graduate student, I became well versed in machine learning and was on the team that discovered the Higgs Boson at CERN. It was also during my graduate school years that I picked up woodworking and developed skills in construction as we remodeled our home from the subfloors all the way up to the roof. I now work with 3D printers and do detonator science at a national laboratory. I love making things more efficient, spending money to save money, and customizing everything around me to better suit my needs.
